The first training walk of 2013 - 8 miles

...and so it begins...

Today's 8-mile route

This morning was our first training walk of the season for the 2013 Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk! We had a GREAT turnout of about 20 people (including two husbands!) which made for a great walk together. We had a few new people (yay!) and a few people who had walked with us in the past, but didn't walk with us last year. So happy to be with everyone again.

We met at the Warming Hut at 7:30, and left by 7:45am. We walked around many familiar areas in the Presidio including The Battery to Bluffs Trail, up to Immigrant Point Lookout, Lover's Lane, the Lyon Street Stairs (going down), the Palace of Fine Arts, and back through Crissy Field. It's one of my favorite routes, as it really brings us through so many great parts of the Presidio.

It was pretty foggy at 7:30, and the sun never really broke through the clouds. I actually prefer colder weather (versus hot) so it was fine with me.

walking, walking, walking...

The two husbands - Dick and Michael. Michael is married to Holly, and today is his birthday! How nice that he chose to spend his birthday morning walking with us!
