It's that time again...

Back at it again, after only 2-1/2 weeks. Did you know you can donate Platelets every 2 weeks? When donating Whole Blood, you have to wait 2 months before donating again.

Summer in San Francisco

You should be able to see Twin Peaks behind Wallace, but Karl the Fog was already out and blanketing the City by the time we got out for our afternoon walk today.

Happy 70th Birthday, Mom and Dad!!

We went out to a wonderful dinner last night to celebrate both of my parent's 70th Birthdays!!! My Mom's birthday is on July 1, and my Dad's was yesterday, July 28th.

Happy Birthday, Mom and Dad!!! We love you both very much!!!

Plumpacalypse 2018 Grand Total

This year's Plumpacalypse Crop yielded a very manageable 68 12oz jars of jam! That's less than half of last year's record-breaking total, but I'm perfectly happy with how much more manageable it was this year. I made a batch every-other-day day and never got overwhelmed. That's a first!

I am Pai Gow Chow.

Hello, Straight Flush!
Paid off 50 to 1 on my $1 bonus bet.

The Oyster Bar at The Palace Station

We came here for an early lunch on Jason's recommendation. There's usually a line but we were able to sit down immediately when we arrived just after 11:00.

I had a Pan Roast, which is what they are best known for. Dick had gumbo.

Everything was really amazing! The bar only seats 18 people, so it's hard to get a seat when it is busy. It was also a great way to watch them cook for meal right in front of you!!

First flight on JetSuiteX!!

I took my first flight in JetSuiteX today! Dick had flown with them last month and loved it so much that we booked a flight together. We got a really good rate, so made a plan for a quickie trip to Vegas.

The experience was mostly terrific, not unfortunately our flight was delayed by almost two hours. Apparently, the plane coming into Oakland hit some birds (RIP 😢😉) upon landing and they had to have a crew come out to make sure the plane was still safe.

Luckily, we had no set itinerary today so the delay didn't really affect us.

The rest of the experience was fantastic!! It was in general aviation, so o airport lines, TSA, etc. We could also show up only 15 minutes before the flight (we were a little earlier, plus had the delay).

I'm still excited for our return flight back home on Wednesday!!

Private Indian Cooking Class

My Sister and Graham gifted us and my parents a private Indian Cooking class out our house as a Christmas gift! After some scheduling issues, were all able to get together today. The class is for 8 people so we also invited two friends from my parent's neighborhood.

It was very fun and interesting, and the good was delicious!

My poor MINI

My beloved 2094 MINI Cooper was sideswiped in front of our house sometime in the middle of the night.

I'm seriously bummed about it, but not much can be done. We've filed a claim with our insurance and went to the Police Station to file a report.

I realize this could have been much worse in so many ways, and most importantly, no one was hurt. But still.... super bummed....

An afternoon in Berkeley

Dick needed to take a test at his sailing club today. There's a nice park next to his club along the water so Wallace and I decided to check it out. It was very windy, but we still had a nice time.

After Dick finished (and passed!) his test, Wallace and I joined him for the monthly BBQ at the club. One of the staff members complimented the bandana that Wallace was wearing and offered to give us a new bandana from the sailing club! Wallace is proudly posing with his new bandana in front of the OCSC building in the last photo.

A visit from Jasper!!

Our friends JD and Ray are in town from Vegas, and they brought Jasper! We haven't seen Jasper since August of last year when he was still a puppy.

JD and Ray had a luncheon to attend today so Wallace and I watched Jasper for a few hours.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Olive!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our Olive Kitty!

The last batch of Plum Jam for 2018

I managed to get another 15 jars of jam made today. This will he the last batch. There are still some, but not many plums left in the trees. I took the nets down today and climbed on a chair to pick the remaining plums that I could reach.

In total, I think I made about 66 jars this year, which is a great amount! It was the first time that I didn't feel overwhelmed by Plumpacalypse. It was all quite manageable, yet fruitful! ;)

I'll try to take a picture of all the jars tomorrow. I need to order labels now that I know how many jars we have for the season.
