The WGI Snark Jar
WGI Week is coming!! Time to gather with friends, watch the beauty and artistry of some good 'ol pageantry, praise the good, and well, snark at the not-so-good.
"Snark for a Cause"
Last year, my friend, Mike, suggested that I should make my annual WGI party a fundraiser for the The Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk. He came up with the idea for the "Snark Jar".
It's like a "Cuss Jar", but instead of having to put in money for cussing, we put in money for being snarky while watching WGI.
It's all in good fun: Basically, we can't help ourselves - we've been involved in this activity too long. We're jaded, and can't help but be a little (or a lot) snarky while watching guard shows. It happens to the best of us. To be clear (in case anyone thinks we're just a bunch of bitter has-beens), we're not just snarky: We also praise, applaud, give standing ovations, etc.,
For every snarky comment, we add $1 into the snark jar. Now, I realize this may soon be out of hand, and that the jar may quickly overflow with dollar bills. As an alternative, I'm offering the option of paying $25 for "Unlimited Snarkiness"!
This year, I thought I'd take the WGI Snark Jar GLOBAL!
Let's make it a Virtual Snark Jar, and see how many people from all around want to participate!
Whether you're watching LIVE from the UD Arena in Dayton, at home by yourself, or at a viewing party with friends, you too can join in on the snarkiness fun!

Simply keep a tally of how many snarky comments you make during WGI World Class Finals (Scholastic and Independent) and at the end of the evening, you can make your donation of $1 per Snark to my fundraising page here: Trina's Fundraising Page for the Immediate Impact Walk. Remember, if you realize that you've been snarking all night long, you can always opt for the $25 "Unlimited Snarkiness" option. :)

What's the fundraiser for?
I will be again be walking in the Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk which will take place Oct 18-20th. We'll be walking 55 miles around San Francisco in three days. Our three Bay Area Beneficiary Organizations provide services and funds to low-income and under-served people living with breast cancer: Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, Charlotte Maxwell Complimentary Clinic and Friend to Friend Fund - Partners in Care at UCSF Mt. Zion. Our National Beneficiary Organization is METAvivor Research and Support. METAvivor is the only national nonprofit focused on metastatic disease. Funds granted will be directed to the Research Program.

Last year, we raised $314 from our Snark Jar!! Let's see if we can out-snark ourselves, and raise even more this year. :)
My total fundraising goal is to raise $10,000!
