Event Prep!

This afternoon, I volunteered for "Event Prep" for the Immediate Impact Walk.

As I've mentioned before, this event is a true grass roots effort, and the people in charge have put so much time, dedication, energy and thought into every step along the way. It's a real labor of love.

Well, it's just about here! Marcia and Linda went to the grocery store and Costco today to load up on water, snacks and breakfast foods for the weekend. They also organized all of the medical kits, and arranged everything for opening ceremonies, the three route support/medical cars, camp and closing ceremonies. Amazing.

We met this afternoon to sort through and organize everything that they had, and load it into the big truck and a couple of the route support cars.

They even had a few great magnetic signs made to put on the route support cars to let people know that they are with us.

There is a mandatory meeting tonight for all of the crew who are volunteering.

We are meeting at 6:00am tomorrow, unloading/loading everyone's gear, and having Opening Ceremonies at 6:30. We hit the road for our first 20 miles at 7:00am.

We're almost there! It's going to be an amazing weekend.
