Today's 20-mile training walk around San Francisco

today's 20-mile route

Today's 20-mile training walk with the Warming Hut Hotties was just fantastic! It was a HUGE, 20-mile loop around San Francisco. It's one of my favorites!

We met at 6:30 at the Warming Hut in the Presidio. We walked along Crissy Field, through the Marina, Fisherman's Wharf, along the Embarcadero, past the Ferry Building, the Bay Bridge and AT&T Park. We walked through Potrero Hill, the Mission, Dolores Park, the Castro, UP 17th Street, through Cole Valley, the Sunset, around Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park, and back through the Presidio again.

I think we managed to walk through all 6 SF micro-climates in 7-1/2 hours. We started off in the fog, and as we walked throughout the day it was warm enough to be down to just my tank and skort (took off a short-sleeved shirt and jacket). By the time we were back in the Presidio in the early afternoon, we were back in the fog!

Our total walk time was around 7-1/2 hours, which is a really good time, considering the size of our group and that we had four break stops today. Go, team! :)

Thanks to Linda for once again organizing another amazing walk around our beautiful city!

the Golden Gate Bridge, covered in fog at 6:30am. I'm not sure what's up with the woman wearing a dress, strappy sandals, and a jacket from the Mirage - at 6:30am. Hmmmm...

Heidi's fun eye-mask that she brought along for laughs!

this road was closed off to traffic in the park, which was nice to walk along!
