(additional info from the facebook event invite)

Please join us for an afternoon of light, color, love and giving.

glassybaby will be driving a van full of rainbow-hued votives down from Seattle for this very special fundraising event. 10% of the sales from each glassybaby will be donated to the Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk (http://www.immediateimpactwalk.org/).

glassybaby are made through a multi-layered glassblowing process and their color comes from different shaded color rods to produce a mix of opaque, translucent, and deeply colored glasses. This method creates a thick, strong piece of glass that has many functions and uses.

It takes four Seattle artists, three layers of molten glass and two thousand degrees to make one glassybaby. An artfully crafted, glass vessel, glassybaby is available in hundreds of colors. To date, the company has donated more than half a million dollars to charities dedicated to health, healing, and quality of life.

*if you see a color on the glassybaby website that you think you'll want to purchase, please let me know. I'll send glassybaby a list of specific colors that people are interested in so that we can be certain that they bring those colors with them.

**Please bring a bag of rice or beans to the party. We will deliver these to our event beneficiary, the Charlotte Maxwell Complimentary Clinic (http://www.charlottemaxwell.org/), to help stock their food pantry. During our recent site visit, we learned that the once "nice to have" food pantry at the clinic is increasingly becoming a necessity for many clients. We would like to help stock the shelves of the pantry with staples of rice and beans.
