Saturday's HOT 20-mile Training Walk
Saturday's 20-mile loop around San Francisco
Wow!! What a day! We walked a 20 mile loop around San Francisco on a very hot (for San Francisco) day!
We met at the Transit Cafe in the Presidio at 6:30, and got off to an early start. It was a gorgeous morning, already in the mid-60s, and we watched the sun rise as we walked across Crissy Field.

Our favorite Bathroom Stop! The Argonaut Hotel with our favorite guy, Donavan!
We walked along the Embarcadero, and walked past the Ferry Building before 9:00am. It was already plenty busy with the Saturday morning Farmer's Market.

Sharla came out today to give us much appreciated route support! Cold water, snacks, fresh fruit, cold baby wipes, and a ride if needed. Thank you, Sharla!!! xo

We climbed many a steep hill in Potrero Hill, but the reward at the top was this amazing view!

We walked through Potrero Hill, all the way through the Mission, and arrived at Dolores Park around 10:00. This was our 10-mile, halfway point!
We are all very excited to be halfway through!
No, really - we are REALLY excited to be at mile 10 of 20!
We walked up Church Street, all the way to Duboce, then walked up, Up, UP Duboce!

We came down into the Haight, then walked through the Sunset, Golden Gate Park, and the Richmond District.
We had our final break at Baker Beach. We've walked through Baker Beach several times over the years, but this was, by far, the most crowded we've ever seen this beach! It's usually really cold here, but today, it was downright HOT!
Walking towards Baker Beach
Check out the crowd at Baker Beach! What a gorgeous day!
We took a quick peek into the Artillery Museum, which apparently is only open one Saturday a month.
We walked up the many stairs to Immigration Point, where we had closing ceremonies last year.
A clear day at Immigration Point
Sharla met us at the top for more refreshments including her amazingly delicious Water Melon!
We found some nice shade once we were in the Presidio again
Did I mention how HOT it was today? This is crazy-hot for San Francisco. Luckily, we managed to stay in the shade for most of the day. Between the shade and occasional breezes, it wasn't too bad
The home stretch
Lizelle and Beatrice. Today was Bea's first 20-mile walk! GO, BEA!
Today's Stats
A look at our many Fitbits showing how many steps we took today - over 45,000 steps!
It was a GREAT walk and a gorgeous (albeit hot) day!
We've got another 16-miles planned for tomorrow. Stay tuned!
