Today, we drive to Livingstone to visit Victoria Falls. First, we took a boat out to Livingstone Island. The island is where Dr. Livingstone first viewed the falls which he named "Victoria Falls" after Queen Victoria.
Our guide, Alex, took us on a quick trail tour which overlooked the falls. It was simply breathtaking.
We are here during the dry season, so the falls are not nearly as large as they are during other times of the year. This island would not be accessible during the high wet season.
We took some really great photos near the edge, and Alex took some great ones of our group.
He then asked how many of us wanted to swim in Devil's Pool - a pool of water that overlooks the falls. Pete was the only one of us brave/crazy enough to want to do it. The rest of us watched and took photos and video of his adventure. :)
After Pete survived his swim in Devil's Pool we were treated to an amazing lunch with a few other guests.
What an amazing experience!
