Saturday's 12-mile training walk
Saturday's Route
It was another lovely 12-mile training walk with my team this morning. Last night, my sister and her boyfriend made a generous donation to my fundraising, bringing us over $8,000! I had a lot of motivation this morning! :) Thanks, Sis and Graham!!!
We met at 7:00 at the Transit Cafe, We walked from Presidio to California and had our first bathroom break at a (new to me) Starbucks on California Street. (Carol - I can't believe you weren't there with us today! A break at Starbucks!)
We walked into Golden Gate Park, passing by all of the Musuems.
walking past the CA Academy of Sciences
We had our grocery break at the Andronico's. Apparently, we haven't had many pictures from this grocery store, which we often take breaks at. Time to fix that!
at the nice eating area in Andronico's
We love Andronico's!
We managed not to get lost finding Transverse Drive in Golden Gate Park (a tricky intersection that we've missed in the past) and waked through Golden Gate Park to Fulton Street.
Beautiful lake and ruins in Golden Gate Park
We walked into Lincoln Park, home of The Palace of Legion of Honor - where Dick and I got married almost 8 years ago!

Do you remember the photo I took at Baker Beach during last week's heatwave? It was packed with people. This is what it usually looks like. :)
a normal day at Baker Beach
Great, picturesque group shot
We did one of my favorite trails, Battery to Bluffs, in reverse direction of what we usually do. So pretty today!
Battery to Bluffs!
I don't think the scenery could be any prettier than this
prettier, still!
Hmmmm... and abandoned battery. Is this why the trail is named "Battery to Bluffs"? ;) (kidding!)
This gives you an idea of how many stairs are involved on this trail
By the time we were back on Lincoln Road, the sun was out, and the sky was clear.
Beautiful, clear day on the Bay. You can see lots of boats out there, including one of the America's Cup vessels!
