Day 2!

Saturday morning was cold and foggy! We headed out at 7:30am. Apparently, Sausalito didn't want us in their town too early. We walked from the Presidio, across the Golden Gate Bridge, into Marin County.

The Golden Gate Bridge was so foggy that you couldn't really see anything more than 20 feet away. You had to be right up at the bridge towers to see them!

The weather warmed up once we were in Sausalito.

We had lunch at mile 10 (where it was nice and warm!), then turned back and followed nearly the same path back.

The Golden Gate Bridge was SO cold, windy and foggy on the way back into San Francisco. I'm sure I've never walked across it so quickly, yet it seemed to go on forever!

I arrived back at camp around 3:30pm.

I think this was the most challenging of day of the three. Not so much because of any hills or steps, but more because of the weather (cold, to warm, to really cold) and the less interesting terrain in Marin County, once we were past Sausalito. It could also be because there's a mental hurdle to cross on Day 2. Day 1 is about adrenaline and excitement about starting, and Day three is full of excitement about completing the challenge. Day two is the middle day, which I think might make it the most difficult to get through.

Very cold, but I finished Day 2!
