Along the Walk - Day 1

We left the Opening Ceremonies around 7:30am, and headed out of South San Francisco into San Francisco.

Our Fellow-Warming Hut Hottie, Marsha (who does the Avon Walks) was always there along the way, offering tissues and candy for all the walkers. She even dressed her car up in Deeleeboppers!

We had lunch around mile 10. The lunches were really good! Half sandwiches (turkey, ham or vegetarian) with chips and fruit.

Lunch Day 1

We eventually made our way down towards Ocean Beach to the cheering station where my parents and my Grandma met me to cheer us on! Yay! It was SO nice seeing them along the way! (Thanks, Mom, Dad and Grandma for coming!)

Mom, Trina, Grandma Chan and Dad!

After we passed Ocean Beach, we walked through the Land's End Trail, a familiar training walk trail of the Warming Hut Hotties.

A bunch of the Hotties took this group shot up at Land's End, in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I thought this would be a good spot to take an individual photo. :)

The San Jose Police Department sends dozens of officers who volunteer their time at the 3 Day walk (as well as other Breast Cancer related walks) every year. They are simply amazing! They provide security, encouragement and entertainment to the walkers as they ride their bikes along the roads every day and at camp.

Here's a great video about the San Jose Police, and their role in the 3-Day for the Cure:
