Alice's Oxford

I've been a fan of Alice in Wonderland for several years now.

Around 1865, Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson), a mathematician student at Christ Church College, wrote "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland " based off Alice Liddell, a daughter of a Dean of Christ Church.

Alice's Shop is a store across the street from Christ Church where the real Alice used to buy treats.

There is a stained glass window in the Great Hall of Christ Church which features an image of the real Alice (top left), as well as an illustration from the John Tenniel version of Alice. The same stained glass window also features an image Lewis Carroll (top right), along with an illustration of the Dodo Bird, which represented the author in the book.

The brass dogs in the fireplace of the great hall may have inspired the illustrations of Alice with a long neck in the stories.
