Hokkaido Ramen Santouka in Bellevue

Tonight, we had a spontaneous, special treat for dinner.

This morning, Paula had sent me this article from a local Seattle magazine about a new (and very popular) Ramen restaurant opening up in Downtown Bellevue. It opened just last Thursday, April 24th.

I mentioned it to Dick tonight, and we thought we'd give it a try. I knew from the article that it may be very busy, but figured it would be worth checking out. We love soup - including almost all Japanese soup, and we haven't been to a really great Ramen restaurant here.

We arrived around 6:30. I estimate the line was approximately 25-30 people long. It took us about 30 minutes to reach the front of the line to be seated.

Oh, and by the way, for the most part, Dick was the only non-Asian in line. Always a good sign! :)

As expected, the Ramen was outstanding. It did not disappoint, and was certainly worth the wait.

Now, I suspect this place will only get more popular and crowded. Not sure how often we'll have the chance to go, but we'll certainly be back!
