3rd batch of Plum Jam

Finally got in a full batch today!!! I'm using most of the plums that are ripe this year. In other years, we've composted at least double the amount if plums that we've cooked with. There has been very little that has gone into the compost bin so far.

It's a thin crop this year. I think we may have one or maybe two more batches left on the trees.

Of the 6 years that I've been making the Plum Jam, this has by far been the most manageable, which has been nice! I hope to get four dozen 12-oz jars, but we'll see. So far, I have 26. One year, I only had enough plums to make 8 4-oz jars, which wasn't nearly enough. It has been a nice pace this year, while still having enough jars of jam to share.
