House of Sleepy Pets

7th Annual Tri Pawed Dog Picnic!!

Wallace and I just returned from the 7th Annual Tri Pawed Dog Picnic!! We had heard about it last year, but were out of town, so we were pretty excited to go this year! It was so much fun. A park full of Tri Pawed dogs of all ages and sizes (and blind dogs, deaf dogs, and a dog in leg braces). It was a really special event, and we had a great time. Wallace was even blessed by one of San Francisco's Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Wallace's Play Date with Saki and Yuki!!!

Oh, my!! Wallace just had an amazing play date in our backyard with his two favorite girls, Saki and Yuki!!! Saki and Yuki had never met, but the three of them all played very well together. They ran and ran for about an hour before they all tuckered out.

Enormous Wallace Head Painting Progress!!!

We made really great progress on the Wallace Painting today!! Wallace was a champ, and hung out to model, even though he was tired from the hard work.

It's almost done!! I worked a lot on the eyes, nose, and general shading. I also changed the color of the bandanna to reflect its true color.

Still a little more work to do. Probably one more session! Looking at the photos, I can see that the eye on the right still needs to be larger. I also need to finish the bandanna and work on the background a bit.

Almost done!

This has been such a fun painting process.

Summer of Love Experience at the De Young Museum

glassybaby Seconds Sale in Berkeley

So much fun at the glassybaby seconds sale in Berkeley this morning. By far, the best seconds sale I've been to over the last 3-1/2 years. Paula flew down from Seattle to experience the seconds sale in Berkeley versus the craziness in Seattle. Was so fun to see so many friends there!! I was fairly well disciplined at the sale today (bought a few as gifts and shopped for specific colors for out of town friends) but I totally caved, and bought myself the "Summer of Love" set (at regular price!) at the retail store. Ah, well....

Fort Funston with Paula

Paula is in town for the weekend! Yay!!

We brought her to Fort Funston this afternoon. It was beautiful. Unfortunately, Fort Funston is covered in foxtails right now, which is why we haven't been in a few weeks. We're very mindful of them, so stayed clear of areas with a ton of them, and we checked Wallace every ten minutes or so. Even with our precautions, we pulled no fewer than 25 foxtails off him by the end of the hour that we were there. They stick to his fur too easily, and we are afraid of them getting embedded in his skin, ears or nose.

As much as we love Fort Funston, we may need to stay away for another few months until after foxtail season.

On another note, we saw several whales out in the Ocean!
