I had a really nice lunch today with my new friend (and Union HS alumni) SueAnn! Looking forward to getting together again soon. We have years of catching up to do still! :)

Sunday's 8-mile Walk
Sunday's route
A small group of us went on a nice, 8-mile walk this morning. It was a surprisingly hot day for the end of April! We walked from the Presidio across Golden Gate Park to Irving Street and back. We made it back by 11:00 for the start of Off the Grid.
The "ina's": Trina, Tina and Catriona!
This lion statue was seeking shade underneath the large leaf of a plant in front of the DeYoung Museum.

Preppy Wallace
I found this spiffy polo shirt for Wallace today. He seems to like it. He's ready for some tennis, or golf, or even sailing now!

Hello, 47!!
Today is my 47th Birthday!!
I didn't take many photos, but I had a very nice day!!
Dick, Wallace and Olive all surprised me with perfect cards. Dick and I had a delicious breakfast at our favorite local breakfast spot, Orphan Andy's. I had a great painting lesson, came home for lunch, then we took Wallace out to Fort Funston.
We had an amazing dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, L'Ardoise. Then picked up two slices of cake from the new Castro Fountain (sister restaurant to Cole Valley's Ice Cream Bar) on our way back home.
Plus, I got in almost 15,000 steps for the day, which always makes me happy. :)

Enormous Wallace Painting!!
I started a new oil painting this morning, and wanted to share because it made me laugh every time I stepped away to look at it. Enormous Wallace Head!! I know that I'm probably officially one of "those dog people" now, and I'm okay with that! This is very early in the process, so lots of work to do on it still!

Sam's in Tiburon
Wallace and I drove to Sam's in Tiburon today to meet Dick and his sailing friends for lunch. Dick sent me a message about an hour before from the boat telling me that they were planning to sail to Sam's and dock for lunch and invited me to join them. Sam's has a couple of docks off their restaurant and a beautiful outdoor patio that is dog friendly, so I decided to bring Wallace with me.
We had a great time! We arrived slightly after Dick arrived on the boat, so we didn't get to see them dock, but we were able to walk them back to the boat after lunch to see the boat and watch them take off.
Oh, and Wallace met a little baby girl whose parents asked him to take a photo with. As far as I know, this was the first time Wallace has met a baby. He was really good with her.
I realized as I was driving that I've never driven to Tiburon before. I've only ever walked there from San Francisco. π It was a beautiful day and was nice to drive there on a less busy day without traffic.

Wallace's Annual Check-up
Wallace had his annual check up with Dr Young at the SF SPCA this morning. We're all really lucky (and still kind of amazed) that Wallace is so good, and actually seems to enjoy going to the vet! We think he associates good experiences with all things related to the SPCA.
Wallace's check up went very well. The doctor was very happy with his weight, temperature, teeth, etc. He got two vaccinations today and will return in three weeks for two more. She didn't want to administer too many all at once.

La Taqueria
We walked to La Taqueria for lunch today. It was Wallace's first time. He would tell you that I'm a mean doggie-mama because I'm super strict and wouldn't share my yummy burrito with him.

Wallace and Yuki's second play date!
Wallace and Yuki had their second play date this morning! We met Alisa and Yuki at Lafayette Park, which we all loved. There were a lot of other friendly and well-matched dogs and owners there.
Wallace and Yuki played really well together! Yuki runs just as fast as Wallace. Many people asked if they were related, and I can understand why: they have many physical similarities. It's funny, though, because to me, Wallace is all boy, and Yuki is all girl!
We all had lunch together on Fillmore Street after. The pups both did really well. Lucky for Wallace, Alisa brought treats to keep them both happy and occupied. Wallace loves his Auntie Alisa! :)
