Saturday's 16-mile Training Walk
Today's Route
We had another great training walk today. We met at 6:30am and finished around 2:30. The weather was chilly and foggy for the first half of the walk before the sun broke out. By the end of the day, it was sunny and warm.
We walked through the Presidio, through the Richmond, and into Golden Gate Park. We passed by the gorgeous Dahlia flowers by the Conservatory of Flowers.

We had our first break at UCSF then went for a hike in Sutro Forest. It was quite wet and foggy there, turning everything to black and white.

I felt like we were walking through an Ansel Adams photograph!
We had another break at the Mollie Stones then made our way up to Mt Davidson! By the time we left Mollie Stones the sun came out and the weather became much warmer. In the seven years that I've walked and 21 years that I've lived here, I've never walked up to Mt Davidson. It was super fun going somewhere new. The view from the top was really amazing.

We walked down the Mt Davidson, through Glenn Park, and all the way down to Noe Valley for our last break. We went to the Whole Foods in Noe Valley where Dick and Wallace met us for a quick visit!
Our last 5-6 mile stretch was the all the way up and down Castro Street and then Divisadero. Plenty more hills. We stayed in the shade on the way back, which helped cool us down from the heat.
