Wallace had an unexpected first this morning: he discovered that we have a whole other level in our home!
When we first adopted Wallace, we still had our little kitty, Noe. We had decided that the upstairs floor (where our bedroom is) should be her safe space - no dogs allowed. Because of this, we didn't encourage Wallace to go up or down the stairs in our home. Actually, we tried to get him to go downstairs, where Dick's office and music room are. We've actually had to carry him up and down those stairs because he wouldn't go on his own.
Yesterday we had Wallace downstairs with us and for the first time, he came up those stairs to the main level, where he usually stays. We praised him and he seemed very proud of himself!
That must have lasted until today because this morning, out of the blue, Wallace followed me upstairs to our master bedroom level! No coaxing at all from me, he just wanted to come upstairs with me. I showed him around the upstairs level, and he seemed amazed at how much larger the house is. :) I brought him to the outside deck so he could see the view.
He's been so excited all day, and keeps following me up and down the stairs. :)
