Tokyo: Day 1, Part 1 : Harajuku

We managed to get a very good night's sleep last night, and were up bright and early, ready to see Tokyo! It's been almost 7 years since we were last here, so we wanted to take the day to re-orient ourselves with Tokyo and their public transportation system. It all worked out well - we saw a LOT today, a few things we'd seen before, but a lot of new stuff (to us), too!

We started out at Harajuku. We had visited this neighborhood seven years ago, but thought it would be fun to go again. Sundays are the day to go, as that is when the infamous Harajuku girls dress up and come out. It was pretty quiet when we first arrived (9:00 or so) but by the time we left around 11:00, it was plenty busy.

I had remembered that the last time I was in Harajuku, I had stumbled across a "Snoopy Town" store. I thought it would be a fun mission to find it again, and find some goodies for my sister, who loves Snoopy. Turns out, the store was in a new location (in the basement of a toy store called "Kiddyland". We had no idea, but lucky for us, I was interested in checking out the toy store, went in, and then saw the signs leading downstairs to Snoopy Town! I had a great time in there, and found some fun goodies for my Sis! Dick was a little overwhelmed by the atmosphere, so we didn't spend too much time! :)

After the big Snoopy Town find, we walked around the fun Harajuku area. So many photo options! Here are a few...
