I'm so grateful to have this wonderful gent in my life. Rob and I met 30 years ago this Summer. My sister had studied abroad in London that year and had contacted the local color guard circuit asking if any guards needed an additional instructor. Rob contacted her, and she worked with him and his guard at the time (Trilogy). I was on staff at Saratoga HS for the next couple of years and we hired Rob as our Winter Guard drill designer and flew him out to CA. He stayed at my parent's house for 3 weeks, and we became fast friends. We have managed to see each other at least every few years, which is quite remarkable, given the distance. Usually, we'll see each other in random places in Dayton, OH during WGI (he has been at Mayflower for 18 years) but other times we have managed to see each other in San Francisco, London, and even Spain!! It's been an amazing friendship that I treasure, and I was so happy to spend some good quality time with him today.
