Dear friends and family,
We did it! 17 walkers met at 6:00 am yesterday and walked a large, 20-mile loop around San Francisco for the 2016 Immediate Impact Walk! San Francisco is a city of multiple microclimates, and we hit them all: the temperature was in the high-50s to low 60s, but we got everything from cloudy skies, rain (enough to warrant putting on a poncho, but not so much that our shoes got wet) and ended the day with clear skies and sun.
I have found that the Immediate Impact Walk event is always a magical experience. There is something truly amazing about the spending the day with like-minded people who inspire you, make you laugh, and remind you about how much good there is in this world. There are moments of contemplation, tears of loss, sadness, remembrance and gratitude. There are moments of absolute pride of knowing that we are truly making an impact in the lives of individuals who are going through so much physical, emotional and financial hardship because of cancer. And then there's the bad-ass feeling that you get when you've accomplished the feat of walking 20 miles. :)
Currently, the 2016 Immediate Impact Walk has raised almost $82,000 - well exceeding our $75,000, and the donations are still coming in. We are SO proud that the Immediate Impact Walk has raised over $500,000 in five short years. Our motto has always been "We are small but mighty" and it certainly continues to ring true.
My personal fundraising is currently at $11,340, and I know additional money from my glassybaby fundraiser will add to it. I am so proud of all that we have achieved. YOUR generosity and open hearts have helped me be the top fundraiser every year of the Immediate Impact Walk so far. Thank you!!
I wrote a blog post last night of a synopsis and photo highlights of our day yesterday:

I'll write you all one more time in another month or so to let you know what the final fundraising totals are.
Thank you again for all of your support over the years. I hope that you can share in the pride and excitement that we feel after each year of our event. Everything that we do is only possible because of our supporters like you.
With Love and Endless Gratitude,
-Trina
