Chick Corea at SFJazz
Tonight's show: Chick Corea. Probably my most favorite Jazz performance i've ever seen. And yes, the encore song was "Spain". :)
We surpassed our event goal of $75,000!!!
Amazing.
The Immediate Impact Walk, with fewer than 20 walkers this year, just surpassed our event goal of $75,000!!
I don't think our event has ever surpassed our goal before the start of the walk before. So proud!
We have now raised over $500,000 in the five year existence of our small but mighty walk. That's a lot to be proud of.
Congratulations to our entire team, and many thanks as always to all of our supporters. xo
King Charles III
We saw King Charles III at ACT with my Sis and Graham last night. It was a long show (almost 3 hours!) but we all enjoyed it.

Walter
My husband cracks me up. We are getting ready for bed, and I turn around and see this. I was taking a sip of water and almost spit it out, I was laughing do hard.
Freddie!!
I just had a fun and semi-spontaneous dinner with my old friend, Freddie!!! We go way back to knowing each other through guard in the very early 90s. We haven't seen each other in 4 or 5 years, even though we only live a mile or so from each other. We must get better about seeing each other more often.
$10,000!!!!!
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, thank you to all of my friends and family who helped me meet my $10,000 goal for the 2016 Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk!!! I am constantly humbled and amazed at the generosity and open hearts of all the wonderful people in my life. Thank you.
The Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk is only 4 short days away! Our event is less than $5,000 from meeting our $75,000 goal. If we meet this goal, we will have raised over $500,000 in the five years of existence of our small but mighty local event.
I'll continue to fundraise until after the event. Let's see how much more money we can raise for our beneficiaries!!

Wallace catching a Frisbee!!
We started to teach Wallace how to catch a frisbee yesterday. So far, he's picking it up pretty well!
We're just starting out, so I'm not throwing it very far yet, but it's already much further than where we started!

Foggy day at Fort Funston
We drove to Fort Funston this late morning with Wallace. It's been SO hot in San Francisco the last two days (91 degrees!) that we thought it would be a beautiful day at the Ocean.
You'd think I'd lived in San Francisco long enough to know that just because it's warm and sunny in our neighborhood doesn't mean it's going to be warm, or even sunny in other neighborhoods - especially the beach! As we drove closer and close we started to see the fog and watched the temperature drop from the mid-70s to the high 50s!!
It was too chilly to go down to the beach, but it was fine for walking along the trails. We decided to let Wallace off-leash early on, once we were well past the parking lot. He did really, really well! He mostly stayed on the trails, went off to explore a bit, played with other dogs, but he also always come back to us - usually without us calling to him. We did some good recall training with him, too. He/we are getting better and more consistent!
I took these photos of Wallace while he was frolicking around on the sand dunes. I love how floppy he is in the action shot of the first one, and think the composition of the second one turned out really nice.
Happy Doggy!!

We met our goal of $7,500!!
GOAL!!!
I'm a little late in posting this but we met my original fundraising goal of $7,500 for the Immediate Impact Walk! The goal was met and surpassed Friday night! I was a little busy and tired from two training walks in the sun, so I'm only now getting to posting about it, but it is very exciting!
Thanks to all my sponsors who have made this milestone possible.
Our event goal is $75,000 this year. As of this minute, we have raised $62,525 so we still have $12,475 to go! If we meet this goal, we will achieve our ultimate goal of having raised over $500,000 over the 5 year history of the Immediate Impact Walk! We only have about 18 walkers, and only 6 days left before the event, so we have a ways to go in a short amount of time.
I'm going to raise my personal goal to $10,000 now! I am currently at $8,190, so it is definitely in reach!!

The last training walk of the year!
Today's Route
Today was the last training walk of the 2016 season. We ended on a scorcher - San Francisco reached 91 degrees today! That's crazy-hot for us. It was a gorgeous and clear day again, but was even hotter than yesterday. We tried our best to stay in the shade, but ultimately, it was just hot, and we cut out one mile towards the end. I know it was a good call.
Sandy, Linda and I decided to dress as triplets today for fun: we all wore this red/black plaid skirt from Lululemon and wore it on the event two years ago. It was funny to wear them together again today.
As has been the tradition for the last few years now, our final training walk of the season included the Labyrinth at Land's End, and the San Ladder at Baker Beach. By the time we got to Baker Beach around 11:00, it was already in the mid-80s, and the parking lot to the beach was full. The beach as the most crowded I've ever seen it.
Many thanks to Irene, who took the group photos included here. Irene has such a great eye, and her photos are always beautiful.

This morning's 12-Mile Training Walk to Sausalito
Today's Route
We took a gorgeous 12+ mile walk this morning from the Presidio in San Francisco, over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and back. It may have been the most beautiful conditions that I've ever walked over the bridge. We saw the sun rise, it was clear and warm. It was incredibly picturesque!!
We arrived to Sausalito around 9:00, and imagine my happiness when Linda discovered that the Lappert's Ice Cream shop in Sausalito was already open! We went in for a scoop of ice cream which was incredibly refreshing on what was already becoming a pretty hot day.
It heated up on our way back to San Francisco, but we still made it back by Noon.
Oh- and I wore a visor for the first time! It took some getting used to, and I probably looked pretty dorky, but I think I liked it on a warm day. It kept the sun off my face more, and I think kept me a little cooler.

SF SPCA's Whiskers & Whiskey Event
We went down to the San Francisco SPCA to partake in their "Whiskers & Whiskey" event. It was a fundraiser with food, open bar, tattoo artists, and free adoptions!
We didn't know what to expect when we RSVP'ed a couple of weeks ago. I figured it would be popular and busy, but boy - did I underestimate the size of the crowd! It was packed (good for them!)!! We brought Wallace, since pets are invited, but I think it was a little overwhelming for him being in such a crowded environment. We carried hime through a lot of it, but he did really well. He seemed to enjoy all the attention he got, and we were able to tell people that we had only just adopted him a few months ago from the shelter.
We didn't stay long, but I did manage to have Dick take this one photo of Wallace and me. I thought it was pretty funny, but Wallace did not seem amused.

Light the Bay for the Immediate Impact Walk
The full group photo of all who came to support The Immediate Impact Walk at glassybaby's Light the Bay
What an evening! Tonight was the "Light the Bay" contest/event hosted by glassybaby at the San Francisco Ferry Building.
We had a wonderful turn-out and show of support for the Immediate Impact Walk! I'm so proud of our group and all of our friends and family who came to help out!
glassybaby held two contests today in celebration of the company giving over $5 Million dollars! They had one contest this morning in Seattle called "Light the Bridge" and another in San Francisco this evening called "Light the Bridge". At each contest, the non-profit that had the largest amount of online purchases AND people to come to represent those purchases would win the grand prize of $55,555!! There was also a prize of $15,000 for second place and $10,000 for third, and $1,000 each to places 4th through 10th.
We don't know the results for the San Francisco event yet, but we are so very proud of our Immediate Impact Walk community. Many thanks to all of our family and friends who came out to support us.
It was such a beautiful evening with a beautiful spirit celebrating a wonderful company that gives so much.
We should know the results tomorrow or Monday. Stay tuned!

Hall & Oats Concert
We went to see Hall & Oats in Concord tonight with my Sis and Graham. It was like being transported back to Junior High.
