The 2013 Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk is almost here!! Tomorrow morning will be the first day of the event!
This afternoon, I volunteered to help with event prep. As I've mentioned before, this event is a true grass roots effort, and the people in charge have put so much time, dedication, energy and thought into every step along the way. It's a real labor of love.
Linda and Sharla had been to Costco over the weekend buying food and treats for the event, and Sandy and Catriona went to Safeway today to pick up a few more items. We organized all of the medical kits, and arranged everything for opening ceremonies, the three route support/medical cars, camp and closing ceremonies. We have three vans (sweep/medical/hydration) and one van (which will be taking all the luggage to camp, etc.,). Amazing!
We are meeting at 6:00am tomorrow, unloading/loading everyone's gear, and having Opening Ceremonies at 6:30. We hit the road for our first 20 miles at 7:00am.
We're almost there! It's going to be an amazing weekend.
Snack bins, labeled with "Day One", "Day Two" and "Day Three" for each of our rest stops along the way
one of the event vehicles with the Immediate Impact Walk logo magnet attached - we're so official!
1/2 of our medical crew, Charisse, getting all her gear ready! Thank you, Charisse!
