Tokyo: Day 1, Part 3: Tokyo Station & Ueno Park

We finished strolling around the Imperial Palace Gardens around 2:00, and decided to find another area of Tokyo to explore. We decided to walk to Tokyo Station, which is the central hub of all of the public transportation systems, including the metro, subway, and Japan and Private Railway lines. The building is just beautiful, and quite different from most of the modern or ancient architecture that we've seen around Japan.

Next, we took the metro up to Ueno Park. A great, HUGE park filled with wonderful museums, public spaces, temples, and the Zoo. We didn't have time to go into any of the museums, but we very much enjoyed strolling around the grounds.

We took the metro back to Shinjuku and relaxed in our hotel for about an hour before heading out to dinner....
