Dad's Hip Replacement Surgery

My Dad went in early this morning for a Hip Replacement surgery. He had a Hip Resurfacing surgery on his other hip two years ago. Because of some minor complications with the last one (his femurs/hip socket was unexpectedly turned in) the doctor decided it was best to do a full hip replacement this time around.

The surgery took less than two hours (an hour less than last time) and went well. There were no surprises this time around. :)

Dad is now resting comfortably in his hospital room, and just had his liquid lunch. (Although he said he felt like having a steak after getting out of surgery!)

Assuming all goes well, Dad will be here for two nights, and released to go home on Thursday.

Here's a photo that I just took. (Yes, I did get his permission to post it to the blog.) My Dad has a small, red-lit monitor on his finger. He says he feels like E.T. :)
