Last night's figure drawing session was very interesting on many levels. We had a new (to me) model, who was very good, but a bit challenging for me to draw. (not sure why - I can never really explain why some models are easier for me than others.) She definitely had a dance background, (I could tell by how she held her hands, and how she posed) which I loved.
Usually, the 7-minute poses are some of my strongest. Not true at all last night. My quick warm-up sketches, seemed better than usual (1-minute - 3-minute) and my 7 minute drawings weren't particularly interesting.
I rediscovered my shammy during this session, which was fun. You can see the effect of that on my last two drawings that I've posted here.
1-minute warm-ups
this was intended to be a 7-minute pose, but only ended up being a 3-minute, which is a shame. I think I was on to something quite good here. We'll never know... ;)
10-minute
I'm not sure why, but this one looks quite different from most of my other drawings. I kind of like it.
20-minute
here's where I rediscovered my shammy!
