Thank You, Jackie!!!

I spent the afternoon with my Grandma today. She lives in a Senior Housing development near my Mom and Dad.

There is a wonderful woman who works in the office there whose name is Jackie. I've known Jackie for almost 4 years now, and love chatting with her while I'm visiting my Grandma.

This morning, as I was waiting for my Grandma to come downstairs from her apartment, Jackie and I caught up with each other. I had last seen her a couple of weeks ago, and told her about the 3-Day Walk that I'm doing, so she asked me today how everything is going so far. I told her that it's only two weeks away now, and also shared with her the training I've been doing, and how much money I've raised so far.

She was so impressed with how hard I'm working to train, and how much money I've raised so far, that she immediately offered to make a donation! I was caught slightly off guard when she offered, as I hadn't asked for a donation at all, and it was so kind and generous of her.

I asked her if it would be easier for her to donate online, but she explained she doesn't do anything on the computer. She wrote a check to me, and I told her that I'd send in her donation for her.

I send out a Thank You letter and additional updates to all of my sponsors via email, so I asked if she had an email address. Of course, since she doesn't use a computer, she does not have an email address! I told her that I'd print out the letters to her, and send them in the regular postal mail. :)

I noticed that she does have a computer in her office, so I offered to show her how to access my blog posts about the walk so that she can see all of my updates through that. She was so excited! I went to her computer, and bookmarked my blog for her.

So, I'm hoping that Jackie was able to figure out how to access my page on her computer, and hope that she's reading this now! :)

Thank you, Jackie, for your very generous donation! I really appreciate it!

Thank you also for everything that you do, but especially for taking such good care of my Grandma. :)
