Today, I took a field trip to the lovely suburb of Walnut Creek.
I had an 11:00am meeting with a new client (yay) then had lunch with my sister and my Dad. (My Dad has an office in Walnut Creek for about 1 1/2 days per week). Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday, so we went out on a celebratory lunch today.
Big Bonus from Walnut Creek:
Don't laugh, but I got most excited about the parking meter rates. Compared to San Francisco's ever-rising meter rates, it was a deal! I was actually able to get a full 30-minutes for a quarter! I think the last time I parked at a meter in SF (along the Embarcadero) I only got 7 minutes per quarter. (or something outrageous like that)
I also got Princess Parking right in front of the store of my new client.
My sister and I arrived at the store about 10 minutes early, so we decided to stroll around the quaint shops. We went to a thrift store to see if we could find any bargains. My sister is the Thrift Store Shopping Queen. She has bought many a Vintage Bargain - especially in our days in Dayton, OH. But I digress... I found a most excellent vintage brocade dress with a matching jacket. To top it off, it's from Saks Fifth Avenue. And the best part of all: it fit perfectly. I was so excited, as this was my first really good vintage find at a thrift store. It's super cute - very 50's.
