Wallace gets his Leptospirosis Vaccination
There has been an outbreak of Leptospirosis amongst dogs in San Francisco lately, so we thought it best for Wallace to get his vaccination. He did great! We are always amazed at how happy he is to be at the SPCA, even when going for a vet visit. I think he knows that the good people who work here have done lots of good things for him over the last year.

Wallace goes to Glassybaby
Wallace made his first trip to the glassybaby store in Berkeley today. He enjoyed watching the glass artisans make all the pretty vessels that he's seen around our home. He also appreciated that they are a dog friendly company!

Wallace's first play date with Yuki!!
My good friend, Alisa, adopted a maltise/poodle mix from the SF SPCA last week!! She named her 10-month little girl "Yuki", which means "Snow" in Japanese. (Yuki's name at the SPCA was "Snow".)
Wallace and Yuki had met briefly at the SPCA when Alisa and her daughter first went to visit her after seeing her photo on the SPCA website. Yuki has only been with her new family for just under a week, so her play date with Wallace today was her first play date since she's been in her new home!!
Wallace and Yuki got along great!! At first, they were both do excited and happy, that it made Yuki too distracted to walk well on leash. Alisa and I thought it best to separate them for a few blocks, and after we did that, Yuki did much better and was much more calm.
We stopped for a yummy lunch at Cassva, one of Alisa's favorite local restaurants. The two dogs did really well! Yuki is a cuddly little lap dog, and it was obvious that she is bonded to Alisa already. So sweet.
Both dogs did really well on their walk back to Alisa's house, where we all went to play in their backyard. Wallace and Yuki played really well together, but Yuki got pretty tired, and maybe even a little overstimulated, so they eventually tuckered out and rested.
It was great fun spending the afternoon together. Wallace and I are looking forward to many more play dates with Yuki and Alisa!

Mosaic Stairs and Pacific Ocean
We drive Adrianne and Ricky around San Francisco a bit yesterday. We stopped at the Moraga Mosaic Stairs, where we walked up to the top, then continued on to the top of Grand View Park.
We also stopped at the beach so they could see the Pacific Ocean. Adrianne said the last time she touched it was with her Uncle Dick when she was much younger.

Costco Chocolate Chip Cookies
Game Changer!!
I first noticed these chocolate chip cookies at Costco's bakery a few weeks ago. I really wanted to try them, but couldn't justify buying six large cookies.
We have family visiting this week, and having a game night with five of us in total. Perfect reason to buy the Costco cookies!!
Okay, here's the thing: I love a good chocolate chip cookie. I especially love big, thick, warm soft chocolate chip cookies with good chocolate.
The box that they came in had reheat instructions for both the microwave and oven. I decided to use the oven directions which was to bake them for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. They came out great! Warm, soft and gooey, with perfectly melted chocolate.
When we were in the Seattle area, I was introduced to "The Cookie" from Metropolitan Market, which were always served warm, and quickly became me favorite cookie. I'm happy to say that these Costco Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookies are a close second!
They are so large and rich, I wasn't able to finish mine, which is saying a lot!
And, at only $6.99 for 6 cookies, the price can't be beat. I'm pretty sure they will freeze well, so I'm going to give that a shot. It'll help me to justify buying six cookies at a time in the future.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I'm really happy to find my new favorite cookie!

The end of Wallace's day at daycare
Jeff sent us this photo of Wallace towards the end of his day at daycare. Apparently he played hard all day with the other doggies, and was wiped out after all the other dogs went home. 😊❤️
Wallace is off to Doggy Daycare!
Wallace is off with a bunch of friends to his doggie day care! He was so happy and didn't even look back at us as he was leaving.
